 Introduction |
I have 30 yrs shepherding experience, shepherding on both high Scottish hills and lowground ewes. Over the years I have gained experience in training and handling many young dogs of all kinds, also using the border collie for everyday work on the hills in Scotland breaking them to the highest standard. Recently I have been training dogs for nursery trials and have qualified for the Scottish nursery final from my area for the past 5 years, captaining the team for the last 2 years. At the final I have been placed in the top 10 each year that I have participated. Trials have been successfully entered over the years winning both hill and lowground trials.
I regularly travel to Europe taking clinics and helping handlers, both experienced and new. After moving to Delamford I am now in an ideal situation to help train both handlers and dogs in lowground and hill situations. People who come to stay at Delamford can get free evening tuiton during there time here using my own dogs. Longer training days can be organised for handlers more experienced or just starting out, again using my dogs if needed. Working weeks can also be organised where handlers can come along and learn sheepdog handling and more importantly, learn the ways of working and reading the movements of sheep in a working environment. Sheepdogs are normally available for sale and can be sourced to order, for export as well as for the home market. |
